Your whole life is in your mind and you are reacting to your mind, not the world. The world you’re told, the history, sociology, and psychology is not the real world that’s around you.

The words you use measure your experience. Words also distort your mind away from the real experience. In order to understand other people, you will have to measure their words. 

This is the application of the 1st Law of Hermetics, also known as Alchemy.
